Custee, a custom clothing app
Custee is a custom clothing app that uses pre-owned clothing instead of new clothing. The site allows for the user to pick from a selection of t shirts, long sleeves, and sweatshirts that are pre-owned where they can input their own design or choose from stock designs on the website. Overall the app allows for users to create their own style without supporting the ethics of the fast fashion industry.

The Problem

There are many custom clothing apps that allow users create custom clothing quickly, but there are no options for pre-owned clothing.

There are many thrift clothing apps where users can choose from a wide variety of pre-owned clothing, but there is no way to customize that pre owned clothing.
The Solution
Provide those ethically minded users with a custom clothing app that uses pre owned shirts instead of unethically produced new ones.
Process
I divided the process into sprints. I gave 3-4 days for each sprint given the two week time frame.
Discovery

Brainstorm Sketches
I did some sketches with ideas to get the juices flowing
Task Organization
I set up tasks that needed to be done on Trello so I could stay on track.

“I want worn in clothes, they fit better”
“I like the ability to filter”
“I like tasteful Graphics”

80% of users surveyed preferred pre-selected graphics
Insights/ Persona
I was able to develop insights from the interviews and surveys based off my main 3 objectives.
What makes people want to thrift shop online?
People want clothing that is already worn in. They are sure that the fit is set it stone and won’t shrink.
What are the pain points of online thrifting/custom clothing?
People don't like the low quality of custom t shirt sites and find on certain sites such as depop and offer up there is bad communication and oversaturation.
What features do users desire?
The filter feature was the feature that current sites have that users like the best in interviews. People also prefer not to put their own designs but rather have pre selected designs from artistically gifted people.

Usability testing/ Iteration
I tested 5 users. I had them complete 4 tasks. First picking out a black shirt to customize. Second look through graphics and pick one. Third move the graphic. Fourth go to checkout. I was able to gather insights by observing the user complete the tasks I gave them. I also gained a lot of insight from having them communicate their pain points to me.
